Biography: Kes is an Ocampa, whose aging process is radically different than those of most humaniod species. They mature into an adult after one Federation standard year, and only live for nine years (as to how old that translates into human years is unknown). She was born in 2370 on Ocampa to Benaren, her father, and Martis, her mother. When she was a year old she escaped the underground Ocampan colony to the surface and captured by the Kazon-Ogla. In 2371, when Voyager arrived in the Delta Quadrant she was rescued by the crew with Neelix's help. Onboard Voyager Kes trained to be a nurse, with her photographic memory skills it also helped when Lieutenant Paris trained her on how to operated a shuttlecraft. Kes also developed mental powers which included telepathy and telekinesis and studied Vulcan mind-control techniques with Tuvok. Kes's psychokinetic powers quickly developed giving her the ability to influence matter on a molecular level and to be able to see beyond the subatomic level of matter. In early 2374, her powers had gotten to the point where she evolved into a noncorporeal being of pure energy and sent Voyager 9,500 light years closer to the Alpha Quadrant. In later 2376, Kes was able to assume a corporeal form and returned to Voyager. However the strain of her evolution had caused her to appear much older with an unstable mind, believing it was the crew of Voyager's fault for her condition. She changed her appearance to match her younger self and traveled back in time to have Voyager captured by the Vidiians. Kes was killed by Captain Janeway, and informed the Kes of that time about what would happen in the near future. In the slightly altered timeline of 2376 when Kes came back to Voyager, Janeway used her knowledge from the past and a holographic message made by Kes from the past to remind the Kes of the present she choose this next step of evolution and convinced her future self from going back in time to repeat the incident. Kes was last seen on her way back to Ocampa.
